Welcome to the Speech Prostheis Website Minimize

This site is the result of the May 2006 NIDCD/ORD Workshop on Brain Computer Interfaces for Speech Synthesis. Great thanks to the NIDCD for hosting the workshop. Many people there seemed very interested in this project and it is the goal of this site to encourage collboration and data sharing among the members present as well as other labs that may not have been present.

Here you will find several tools to assist in these efforts. The discussion board is where all members from around the world can get together and continue the discussions started at the workshop.

Another feature the site offers is the ability for research groups to share data. Often the data collection phase of many BCI projects can be extremely time consuming. Too often this data never makes it out of a group's circle and other groups that might have strong skills in other areas never get "a crack" at the data.

To join the discussions does not require a membership. However, if you wish to have access to the "Data Sharing" part of this site you must register as a user and request access. This data sharing will be similar to the BCI 2000 data competitions, however instead of being a competition, this will simply be an on going posting of the best results acheived by the contributors and how they accomplished their results. Their will not be any "blind data" that groups will submit results to without knowing the answer. Instead results will be taken with the understanding that the methodology used to reach these results depended on the training and cross validation data, without looking at the testing set data.

Our hope is that other groups will not only want to participate in the data analysis, but will also desire to post there own BCI related data, so that other may give their input. This web site was built off of an Open Source technology that allows the creation of role based users and allows administrators to create and edit web pages without any knowledge of HTML or coding. Any group that desires to have there own "Data Sharing" web page on this site can. They will have administrative control over all content. Any groups wishing to participate can contact the webmaster, and request that a page be created that their research group can control.

If you have any suggestions or find any problems with the site fell free to contact the webmaster at joe@ejoewright.com or simply post your suggestions to the discussion board.

The following pdfs listed below are posters presented during the 2007 Society for Neuroscience Meeting held in San Diego. The posters describe our current recording paradigm and data analysis results achieved by collaborators.
